Built by a lifter.
I am a computer science student and weight-lifter with seven years under the bar. I have run linear progressions, conjugate blocks, volume phases, and everything in between. I have made great progress, but I have watched peers struggle with the same plateaus, the same guesswork, the same lack of feedback that keeps good training from becoming great training.
A coach is valuable, but online coaching misses the main benefit of having someone in the room with you: the push to try harder. Anyone can write a program. You can learn how yourself, or find one of the thousands that already exist online. The real reason to pay for a trainer is the immediate feedback and the pressure to perform. Incite replicates that. It pushes you subconsciously by putting a number in front of you that you want to beat, and it gives you an honest review of your session so you can implement changes faster.
I built every piece of this myself. The sensor hardware, the PCB, the firmware, the enclosure, the mobile app, the signal processing pipeline, the website. I built it because I wanted something I would actually use every day, and I do. I go to the gym, train hard, and at the end I get a personal and nuanced review of my workout so the next one is better, and I want to share that with as many people as possible.
